Rami Abboud is a fourth generation jeweler who has taken the traditional materials of his trade – gold, platinum, diamonds and gemstones – and reconfigured them into luxurious art jewels. Some are drawings in diamonds, sketches from his notebook rendered in precious metal; some are over-the-top compositions in color, with cascading pavé diamonds, rubies and sapphires surrounding colorful gemstones and gem carvings. Many of his jewels are paintings in precious gems, where he combines pavé gems to create a canvas of undulating color.
Rami Abboud studied architecture in Italy at the Universitŕ degli Studi di Firenze, UNIFI, gemology at the HRD Institute in Belgium and received an MBA from the MBA Institute in Paris, where he lives. He has exhibited his work in Palm Beach, New York, Dubai and throughout Europe through the Arte Contemporanea exhibition in Rome.
