Universal Genève 'Aéro-Compax'circa 1950s. Fine, stainless steel "Enversteel", water-resistant, gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, memento dial and two crowns.
Three-body case, with polished, screwed-down case back, concave lugs, winding crown at 9 for adjusting the pilot's independent register. Original matte silver dial with radium-coated Arabic numerals, outer minutes and fifths of a second track with Arabic ten minutes/seconds numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hours and 30-minute registers and the pilot's 'memento' dial in 12 hours, outer blue painted tachometer graduation. Skeletonized lozenge hands. Cal. 281, 13''', movement, rhodium plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed .Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 13 mm. On a period steel link and expansion band. Warrantied for 18 months.

The Aéro-Compax was patented on November 6, 1940. It was specially designed for ailrline pilots, with an extra dial for storing times. The hands in the extra dial are totally independent of the central ones, and can be adjusted without causing any interference to them, thanks to an additional crown on the 9.
