These earrings by Tom Munsteiner exemplify the artist's strikingly innovative stone carving and sophisticated sense of design. The hexagonal tourmalines have been incised from the back to reflect shards of light inside of the gems, while slanted angles on top create a cubist dimensionality. The play of light created by Munsteiner's faceting accentuates the label-defying color of these tourmalines, which seem to be red, pink and orange all at once. 15.15 carats tourmalines. Wide frames of matte finish 18K yellow gold follow the shape and angularity of the stones contained within. Earrings measure approx. 1" across at the widest point by 1-1/8" from top to bottom, and have omega clip post backs.
