Hamilton Piping Rock

The rare and delightful 1948 14K yellow gold 'Piping Rock' Art Deco wristwatch from Hamilton is a collector's goal. The design is spectacularly elegant. The tonneau-shape case measures 28mm x 41mm, with flexible hinged C-shape lugs, the black enamel bezel with embedded yellow gold Roman numeral hour markers, the matte silver dial with blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds register.

The "Piping Rock" was named after the Piping Rock Country Club in New York, and was given to the 1928 New York Yankees in celebration of their World Series victory. The model has been re-released several times, the first in 1948 in solid 14k gold with the calibre 747 movement, the example seen here, warrantied by Aaron Faber for 12 months.
