Calabrese Transworld Dual Time

Vincent Calabrese, a brilliant watchmaker and designer, has developed his own brand of complicated watches, including the well-known Transworld, shown here.

It is an automatic dual time zone design, with the 'home time' displayed as separate hours and minutes on the two registers at 10 and 2 o'clock. The large hands display the time locally, with a power reserve register at the bottom, a constant seconds hand, and a date window at 12 o'clock. All this comes in an elegant 34mm steel case with curved fluted lugs . As you might expect from Calabrese, the time-setting mechanism is unique: there are two crown detent positions, the first allowing a quick set of the date window and set the two large hands by turning clockwise, not interfering with 'home time'. Or you can pull the crown out full, which sets all 5 indicators in motion to re-set all. Accompanied by original box and papers.
