Michael and Catherine Jensen enjoyed New York City so much, and we enjoyed their jewelry so much, that they are back December 12 to 15 with a whole new collection of  their eminently wearable jewels. Michael Jensen’s jewelry is notable for its fine balance of rough textured sterling and luxurious 22 karat gold, just as it suggests Gothic ruins and modern style.  Jensen textures and oxidizes sterling silver, often set with exotic or unusually-cut gemstones, combined with 22 karat gold for a silken contrast.

Michael Jensen Designs is the partnership of Michael and Catherine Jensen, creating handmade fine metal work for over 25 years in their southwestern studio using a combination of casting and fabrication with various surface treatments.  Michael has been a designer and metalsmith for over 28 years.  He has  a background in sculpture and experience in engineering that compliment his degree in fine arts.  Catherine is a Graduate Gemologist (GIA) with a passion for jewelry’s art and history. She is a member of the American Gem Trade Association and the American Society of Jewelry Historians.

The current designs are boldly created with inspiration from architectural and historical references in 22 karat, 14 karat and 18 karat gold (in all colors) and sterling silver then set with precious and semi-precious natural gemstones.  There are a variety of styles for men and women in our core VETUS Collection.  This line is created in 22 karat and sterling silver with a distressed surface inspired by the surface treatments and details of buildings, archaeological ruins and the “mythology” of past civilizations.  “Our design lines are strong, bold and flowing, to convey strength and comfort with a timeless feel.”  Designed and made in America.
