14K Gold Bulova Accutron Skeleton Wristwatch, Circa 1961
Rare 14K gold asymmetrical Bulova Accutron 210 Spaceview, from 1961, is one of the first electronic watches made, using a tuning fork that vibrated 360 times per second using a transistorized electronic circuit and a battery — revealed in the Spaceview model, with the conventional dial removed. Joseph Bulova used date codes on these watches — here it is M1, for 1961 — stamped on the back. Most Spaceviews were made in stainless steel, so 14K solid gold versions are hard to find. 33mm x 40mm [lug-to-lug] case with faceted extended lugs has a screwdown back with time-set mechanism and battery access, marked waterproof, in excellent condition, warrantied by Aaron Faber for 1 year.
