Art Deco Cartier Diamond Wristwatch
Platinum and 18K yellow gold Cart ier France diamond baguette, made circa 1930, is a fine and rare, small, Art Deco, woman’s wristwatch with a cord bracelet, two diamond-set slides and 18K yellow gold & black enamel curved deployant clasp set with 2 round diamonds. The platinum case measures 6.5mm x 25mm with curved extended diamond pave set, hinged case back with 2 screws and back winder, flat top crystal. The dial is matte silver with painted Arabic numerals, and blued steel spade hands. The movement is the tiny 2 1/2”’, baguette, Duoplan, signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc., rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, warrantied by Aaron Faber for 2 years. Dial signed, case and movement signed European Watch & Clock Co. inc. Accompanied by box with family handwritten note in French which translates: “This Cartier watch of Mommy’s was overhauled by Cartier and they would gladly re-purchase it. I counsel selling it, along with the ring (which is not a family heirloom) and share with J & L”.
