Michael Boyd: Multi-Gem Ring
Michael Boyd’s jewels glow with the rare and unusual gems he chooses and the intimate details that claim our attention. Here, he layers an emerald cabochon on iridescent labradorite next to bright green maw-sit-sit topped with an oblong cabochon pale blue zircon, a tiny diamond set at the side in platinum. The ring measures 3/4″ x 5/8″ and is size 6. Gems are set in oxidized sterling, 22K gold, 18K gold and platinum, in a rounded square double shank with sapphire beads.
