Arata Fuchi: Homage 2 Ring

Arata Fuchi's sculptural jewels are oversize in scale, his vision of natural forms interpreted and redefined. Here, an extraordinary powdered silver finish tulip reveals a gold granule pistil inside, surrounded by sprouting cones of patinated silver and green patinated palladium leaves, rise above a vine-like twisted triple sterling shank. The works are intimate in their detail, with miniscule granules of pure gold set in silver ,or tiny granules embedded in large forms, all of which Fuchi fabricates by hand, working with microscopic level magnification. The unique texture of many of his jewels is the result of silver pulverization, in which Fuchi covers the surfaces with silver powder, creating a softened, textured surface that invites one's touch. The ring is size 7.5.
