Earl Pardon (1931-1991) is considered one of the foundational artists of the Modernist jewelry movement. Trained as painter and sculptor, he found his niche in precious metal. The brooch here, a miniature sculpture if you will, is a composition in sterling silver, 14K gold, enamel tiles, abalone shell, blue topaz, and tourmaline. The brooch measures 2" x 1-3/8".
