Jennifer Trask: Pavo Necklace

Jennifer Trask's explores the intersection of science and art in her collection of work from the the early 2000's. Here,the necklace titled "Pavo" is a study in color,the sterling,18K and 22K gold disc compartments filled with the earthly treasures Trask combines: peacock feathers,butterfly wings,intensely hued powdered pigments,and at the clasp,peridot and paua shell. The round compartments range in size from 1-1/8" in diameter to 1/2,the necklace 18-1/2" long,the compartments closed with watch crystals.
