The mid-20th century brought flight and war to the forefront of the world, and during this period, 1940 to 1950, the Swiss watch industry turned out mechanical accurate chronographs for pilots, navigators, officers and the military. Today, these watches are still accurate, but their design is what drives the collectors market. This 37mm stainless steel Swiss chronograph has a snap back with patent, round-button chronograph, register, telemeter and tachometer scales in red and blue. The original dial features once-luminous Arabic hours, outer minutes and fifths of a second track concentric with red 0-20 telemetric scale, outermost blue 1000-60 km/h tachometer scale, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 60-minute register, and black silhouette hands. The 17 jewels manual wind movement is warrantied by Aaron Faber for 12 months.
