Tod Pardon: 'Seeciao" Pin/Sculpture

Tod Pardon's sculpture/brooches, influenced as much by Surrealism as by African tribal sculpture, explore themes of the human form and sexuality in oversize pins that are meant to be worn or to be displayed on the wood stands that accompany them. Here, from 2008, Pardon's 'Seeciao', measuring 2-1/4" wide x 4-7/8" long is a colorful composition in orange inlay, striped inlay and bone, glass and pearls, in sterling silver with 14K gold.
