Tod Pardon's sculpture 'Shark' is imposing, as befits the subject and the artist's vision. The figure is composed of a sterling silver shield-shape 'body', from which rises the open-mawed, tongue-extended head of Pardon's creature, its mixed media inlay of resin and wood detailing its startled state. The work is two-sided, to be seen in the round, on a wooden base. The sculpture only measures 4" x 10", the wooden base measures 3-7/8" x 3-7/8" x 6". An important work from this artist.
