Michael Boyd: Palmwood and Spessartite Garnet Ring/Sculpture

Michael Boyd’s sculptured ring contrasts neutral shade fossilized gems — dark striped dinosaur bone and light speckled palmwood — with sparkling garnets, a center faceted 0.67 spessartite garnet and side cabochon hessonite orange garnet, set in 22K and 18K golds, with two diamonds, on an oxidized sterling silver setting. The ring is set on a ring stand of palmwood and oxidized sterling, when not being worn. The ring measures 1″ in diameter and the stand is 1-7/8″ diameter. The ring is size 6-1/2.
