Nina Ehmck
Nina Ehmck creates 22K gold jewels that are completely modern, yet evocative of ancient cultures and civilizations. Inspired by classic forms of the jewelry of antiquity, each necklace or earring is made of individually made precious beads in 22K or sterling. And while Ehmck’s forms – her vocabulary – are inspired by antiquity, she uses a modernist approach to those forms that is notable for its purity of line and finish. An Ehmck jewel can be worn day or night, with jeans or silks, but always carries an air of quiet luxury.
Nina Ehmck is a German goldsmith who trained in the guild system, as a journeywoman, to learn that art of goldsmithing. She apprenticed in Italy and returned to Germany to work at the bench, making her own designs. Her world has been exhibited and sold throughout Europe.
