Ed Wiener 'Primitivism" Brooch

The Modernist silverwork of Ed Wiener evolved over his many years as a working studio jeweler, and included many works inspired by his travels and exposure to other cultures and designs. This pin, in what Wiener called his Primitivism influence, has the exhubert, amorphous quality of a Calder mobile, with the stylized bear on the bottom panel lending an intriguing, primitive quality. Measures approximately 2-1/2" from top to bottom and 2-1/8" across at it widest point in the center.
