Jennifer Trask: Pavo Necklace

Jennifer Trask’s explores the intersection of science and art in her collection of work from the the early 2000’s. Here, the necklace titled “Pavo” is a study in color, the sterling, 18K and 22K gold disc compartments filled with the earthly treasures Trask combines: peacock feathers, butterfly wings, intensely hued powdered pigments, and at the clasp, peridot and paua shell. The round compartments range in size from 1-1/8″ in diameter to 1/2, the necklace 18-1/2″ long, the compartments closed with watch crystals.
